Welcome to my art blog. Since I was a little girl I enjoyed drawing. My first piece of work that I can remember was when I was in T1 (or transitional first grade). I drew a wolf head on a standard piece of typing paper with your standard HB pencil. I was so proud of that artwork because it was 1) a wolf which at the time was my favorite animal – other than a horse of course – and 2) was the first piece of art that my teachers really showed off. My T1 teacher took it to show it off to my future 1st grade teacher. I was so proud. After that I drew here and there, but really didn’t start developing my skills till junior high school. To be accepted into the advanced art class in eight grade I had to show a portfolio of work that consisted of at least ten pieces. I was determined to be in the advanced class after spending a year in the regular 7 th grade art class where we learned about monochromatic scales and complementary colors and painted with tempera paint.
This blog is to share more about what happens at Tasha Fay Studios. In many ways I feel like I am my art or that my art is myself. While I don't create controversial art, I can only draw or paint if I feel motivated to do so. I don't doddle. I don't make marks just to make marks. I make them to release energy. The art supplies are just instruments -- a way to move that energy that is within me outward. With that, let us begin.
